A Note from Owen and Lucas...

Hi everyone. Thanks for following us on our mommy's blog. She is really sorry she hasn't posted anything in a really long time. We have been keeping her very busy...

Eating crayons...

Rubbing lunch in our hair...

and dumping out the entire bag of M&M's mommy needed for Thanksgiving dessert.

Maybe one of these days we'll give her a break so she can take some pictures and show all of you blog readers how incredibly cute we are.

Happy Halloween!

I was so excited for Halloween this year. First of all - Owen was old enough to trick-or-treat. We dressed him up last year, and it was cute and fun and all, but I was really excited about taking him trick-or-treating and showing him off :) Another reason is because of our neighborhood. I love our neighborhood. One of the reasons I wanted to move was so we could be in an actual neighborhood, with lots and lots of kids...and Halloween was the perfect time to see that in action!

Trick-or-treating in our 'hood

When we were thinking about/looking for costumes, I quickly realized next year Owen will probably want to have more of an input on what he wants to be for Halloween. So, while we had the chance, we made Owen and Lucas dress up "thematically"...

Lucas, our adorable little bat

Owen - our scary (yet adorable) vampire

The only decent picture we could get of them together in their costumes. Owen is NOT a fan of getting his picture taken with Lucas.

Yum...candy!!

Lucas wasn't too sure about this trick-or-treating business.

The lady at this house dressed up as a bee-keeper and her little dog was a bee. Owen thought this was CRAZY and kept pointing to the dog going "Oh no"

Lucas was very happy to be out of his costume and into his jammies!

Once again, we tried to get a picture of them together in their Halloween pjs, but Owen just wasn't having it.

Post-crazy

I spent the last week trying to get as many posts as possible up. During the week, I would upload all the pictures, and I was finally able to carve out (haha - get it, it's Halloween...pumpkins...carving) a few minutes and finish up. I know I have been really bad about posting updates...but, hopefully this will satisfy your Myers family blog craving for a few days (or weeks...) :)

Look-a-Like?

We get A LOT of comments about how much the boys look alike. Most of the time, I don't see it. I think Owen looks exactly like Justin, and Lucas looks more like me. However, there are sometimes I see it...

Lucas - 4 1/2 months

Owen - 3 months

Cooookies!!!

With the weather becoming cooler these past few days, I tried to think of a few indoor activities I could do with Owen. I decided that making/decorating Halloween cookies would be a good idea (I know..I've asked myself multiple times...what was I thinking?!?!).

Owen really wasn't very excited about getting started

He was an excellent dough-roller...

...when he wasn't trying to sneak a dough-snack.

Lucas woke up in just enough time to help decorate.

Owen like sprinkling on the sprinkles (take a look at his new decorating tool - his knee)

Once again, Owen liked the "snacking" better than the actual decorating.

Pumpkin carving

Last weekend, we carved pumpkins. I love that Owen is getting old enough that we can start fun traditions like this. However, for those of you who know me well, you know I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to crafty, creative stuff. We didn't have any of the cool pumpkin carving tools and it pretty much took an hour for us to carve a very simple face. So, this is basically an idiots guide to pumpkin carving :)

Step 1: Start out with two pumpkins, and tape an entire roll of paper towel to the patio table.

Step 2: Inspect pumpkin goo

Step 3: Clean out the pumpkin goo

Step 4: Put goo in trash can

Step 5: Inspect pumpkin goo again

Step 6: Put pumpkin goo back in pumpkin. It's where it belongs, right?!?!

Step 7: Admire carved pumpkin with sharp knife right next to almost 2-year old

Owen had a fun time carving the pumpkins. We made the smiley face and also a shark pumpkin...Owen loves sharks. Owen also thought he found a cool new toy...

Hey, daddy's glasses look like fun!

I know exactly where these go

...and now is when the glasses get taken away.

And of course, we have the obligatory "Lucas was here" picture :)

Fall Weather

I have been LOVING this fall weather. While I am excited for the cold weather to come (mainly so I can put the boys in their super cute winter clothes), we have been taking advantage of the warm weather and playing outside a lot!

Hello, blue eyes

We (and by "we", I mean "Justin") raked a few weekends ago, and we (again "we" = "Justin") left a pile at the bottom of our slide. Owen thinks it's super fun to slide down the slide into the pile of leaves.

Blowing on the "hot" leaf (!?!?!)...crazy toddlers!

Owen has been really cute with Lucas lately. He definitely still ignores him for the most part, but there are what I hope to be glimpses of their future relationship :)

Hey Lucas, check this out!

Thanks for showing me how to play with my toys, Owen!

Pumpkin Patch

A couple of weekends ago, we ventured out to a pumpkin patch. We actually had been planning on it all week, so it was a much better experience than last year. As I am sure you've probably noticed, taking pictures for me has become VERY difficult (not that I ever did that great at it to start out with). There aren't really a whole lot of pictures, but we are still getting used to managing two kids in public.

Rolling tiny pumpkins down the chute

There was a GIANT hay mountain, and Owen thought it was awesome.

Owen was the king of the hill

Driving his tractor

The highlight of our trip for sure was the hayride to the pumpkin patch. Owen was really excited to be riding a real tractor!!

Here we goooo....

Searching for the perfect pumpkin

Lucas found his pumpkin! (This is a really bad picture of Lucas. He is a chub, but not as big as he looks here :)

We found our pumpkin!

Hey, brother...

It's been a busy couple of weeks at la casa de Myers. Lots of fun times filled with weddings, pumpkin patches, trips to the zoo and aquarium! Maybe one of these days I'll get around to posting about them :)

I don't have a lot of time, but I have some of videos I want to post...sorry, most of you will probably think they are boooooring, but some family members have been threatening to de-family us if they don't see these soon!

This one is of Owen FINALLY acknowledging Lucas exists. Now that Lucas is getting bigger and more "interactive", I think Owen is starting to realize he might be fun some day.

I have to edit the rest of the videos because there is a lot of extra footage, but they are HILARIOUS. It's videos of Owen at a wedding reception last weekend. I will try to get them done soon.

A Day out with Thomas

Like most toddler boys we know, Owen is completely OBSESSED with trains (choo-choos). He loves them. A couple of weeks ago, we heard about "A Day Out with Thomas". It was an event at the LM&M Railroad, just a few miles north of us. Thomas the Tank engine (THE Thomas) was visiting for a couple weekends and you could "meet" him and take a train ride pulled by Thomas. We knew Owen would LOVE it, so went up for the morning.

Loving the train ride

Lucas and Mommy had fun, too!

In addition to the actual train ride, there was a TON of stuff to do. There were train tables to play with (of course), there were circus performers, a hay maze...all kinds of stuff!

Outta my way!!

The highlight of Owen's day - getting his tattoo

Completing the hay maze AND showing off his tattoo

Owen's very favorite book is the little golden book "The Little Red Caboose". We have to read it every night before bed. He was super excited to see a real little red caboose.

Owen climbed up to this point of the jump castle, and then just sat and stared for probably 45 seconds. We were finally able to get him to go down :)

We ate lunch at a super cute pizza place...Owen really liked the cow!
