Ugh...how much longer does this last ?!?!

I hesitate to write this post, because I generally feel pretty guilty when I complain about being pregnant.  I know there are many, MANY women out there desperate to become pregnant and ache to experience the exact same feelings I have become an expert at complaining about.  Nine months ago, we were in the exact same boat when we suffered a miscarriage.  It was one of the most difficult things I've ever experienced in my life, and something I still struggle with understanding "why".   I guess the silver-lining in the whole deal was that we were able to conceive again really quickly, thus giving us our new Little buddy.  Were it not for the miscarriage, we wouldn't have had the opportunity for our new little guy.

And he is the one giving my body fits and making me complain! :)  You always hear about "morning" sickness (more like "any time of day" sickness) in pregnant women, but you often don't hear about the other stuff that often plagues pregnant women - or at least me!  So, I am going to share, and I hope you enjoy!  Here are my not-so-favorite parts about being pregnant:
  • Snoring like a 45-year old man
  • Pooping about once every 3 weeks, but needing to poop every day
  • Not being able to sleep the way I want to sleep - no stomach (makes sense) or back (who knew?!?!)
  • Having to constantly pee really bad, but then when I actually go, peeing about a teaspoon worth of pee
  • Getting out of breath walking to the kitchen - and I consider myself to be fairly in shape.
  • Having to shower with the entire shower door open and the shower on pretty much cold because I get too hot.
  • Not being able to eat or drink what I want (this may seem obvious, but no deli meat - WTH?!?, and now that Starbucks has stopped making decaf frappuccinos, UGH!)
  • I can clear a house when I, (how can I put this politely?), pass gas.
  • Some other gross bodily functions that aren't appropriate to discuss in the type of setting.
So, this may seem like a lot of complaints, and I suppose it is, but they are all worth it, when I can feel our Little buddy move, and kick, and punch, which he is doing more and more these days.  That is the one thing I enjoy about being pregnant, and the one thing I think I will miss about the whole experience.  And I am sure come the end of November and he is actually in our arms, I won't be thinking about my inability to poop (although I've heard it's a problem then, too!), or my stinky farts...those hardships won't even cross my mind because I will be so happy he is actually here!!

On another note (don't worry - I'm almost done).  My sister Katie doesn't have much longer of this at all - her due date is 3 WEEKS from today (but, we are hoping he comes a little early!).  Justin and I are so excited to meet our new little Nephew Newt!!!  Hopefully there will be some updates soon.

Justin and I are leaving for Florida tomorrow with some of our good friends Matt and Krista (who are also going to be new parents this year!)  We are hoping to get some good pictures to post of my growing belly - it's getting big!!!

New Addition

As many of you already know, we will be welcoming a new addition to the J. Myers' family in 17 weeks, our "Little Buddy".  We have not even come close to picking out a name for him yet (it's a boy), so we lovingly refer to him as our "Little Buddy" for now.

Like so many of my friends have done, I thought it would be fun to start a blog so our friends and family can easily keep up with what's going on with Justin and me (not much, as usual) and what will be going on with our Little Buddy.  I can't promise I will have anything too insightful or clever to say, because I generally am a pretty boring person, but hopefully once the little dude comes, the pictures will be fun to look at!    Here is what he looks like so far...

He looks a little like an alien, but we think he'll grow out of it :)

He's so darn cute!!
