Little Helper

This past weekend, we spent pretty much the entire weekend doing yard work...YUCK!!  My mom and dad came over, and we put them to work!  Our landscaping was a massive disaster, and they are landscaping pros.  We  just bribed them with a little Owen time, and then showed them the work they had to do.  Owen was quite the little helper, too.  He was very cooperative and a champ the whole weekend.

Helping mommy rake the grass clippings...little does he know this will be HIS job in a few years!

Taking a break to pose for the camera :)

Owen working intently on his monkey, while mommy and papaw work intently on mulching.

"Haha...I'm sure glad I don't have to work!"

The finished product!  We still have most of the backyard to go :(

Happy Birthday!

Happy 1st birthday to 2nd cousin Emma!!  Owen hasn't actually got to meet Emma, because Emma lives in Lesotho, Africa with her mommy and daddy (how cool is that!?!?).  Her daddy is a pilot with an organization called Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).  You can read more about them and their African adventure on their blog.   Justin, Owen, and I are totally going to visit them sometime.  What a great way to see Africa when you can mooch off family :)

So, I haven't updated the blog in a while, because Owen has been keeping my hands VERY full.  He has apparently decided he doesn't like to take naps while laying down.  So, instead he takes them IN MY ARMS.  Very conducive for getting things done around the house.  I think I went about 5 weeks without getting laundry done.  We are really working on a solution for that.  I actually do have a lot to update.  Owen had his 4 month appointment, and is growing like a weed.  He has started eating cereal!!  Maybe one of these days, some pictures will get posted :)

While Katie and Jonah were in town a couple of weeks ago, we went to a baby shower for our cousin Abby (and husband Patrick) and new baby Anderson, who will be making his much anticipated arrival in just a few weeks!

After the shower, the family all kind of hung around and we were finally able to get Zane, Jonah, and Owen together!  We have been waiting for a while to do this, and they were pretty cute!!  Zane is our cousin Jessica's (and husband Brian) son, and is four months older than Jonah.  Jonah is four months older than Owen, and Owen will be five months older than Anderson.  The Burton girls (and husbands) must have been pretty busy this past year and a half ;)  One thing's for sure - Burton family get-togethers are going to be CRAZY with 4 boys  within a 13 month span!!

Spring Photo Shoot

While Katie and Jonah were in town, we a) took about three thousand pictures, and b) attempted to take some cute, professional-looking pictures with the boys in Easter-type outfits. Let's just say a professional photographer I am not! Even though we've had our new camera for like four months, I still do things like take pictures with the background image in focus and Owen blurry.

Our pictures turned out pretty good, though. With boys this cute, it would have been hard to mess them up too bad :)

What the heck is going on here?!?!

Ugh - I wish he would just leave me alone!

Play Ball!!!!

Owen is pretty pumped about Opening Day!  He can't wait to go to Reds games this summer (especially when they play the Cardinals so he can see a REAL baseball team).  To celebrate the excitement of the day, Owen got his first "taste" of America's pastime...

We've been really busy the past few weeks.  Aunt Katie and Cousin Jonah were visiting from South Carolina and we have spent some time in Indiana.  I know I have been slacking lately on updating with pictures, but check back soon - there are a ton of pictures to come!!
