Splish Splash, Owen's takin' a bath!

Owen has always loved bath time - even when he was a teeny tiny little guy and we were still giving him sponge baths.  He has just started to kick and splash, and it's so fun to watch him play around!  It also relaxes him, which is totally fun for mom and dad when it comes time for bed. We have a lot of great pics from Owen's bath time and thought we'd share :)

Owen's very first bath at home (4 days old)

Still rocking the sponge baths at 3 weeks old

All those who love their first "real" baths, raise their hands (4 weeks)

Are you sure you love your bath?!?!  (7 weeks)

Yes, I'm sure!!  (12 weeks)

All done - get me in my jammies!!

Life's a Beach

While we were in South Carolina, we had amazing weather,  It was definitely a lot better than the crap-storm of snow and cold that we've been experiencing in Cincinnati.  We went on walks, played in the backyard, and even got to go to the beach one day!

Ha ha, that was a funny joke, Owen!

Best Good Cousins

Last week, Owen and I were in Charleston visiting my sister, brother-in-law, and the cutest nephew in the world (although, I guess since Owen is a nephew, too....).  I was totally freaked out about traveling on the plane with Owen by myself, but he was a champ!  He slept almost the entire time both ways, and he barely let out a whimper!

Owen hanging out waiting for the plane

When we got off the plane in South Carolina, I was pretty sure Owen was totally confused by the big round thing in the sky emitting so much heat.  I explained to him it was the sun, and we would maybe see it sometime in Cincinnati.

Owen and Jonah had SO much fun playing together (and I LOVED being able to spend so much time with my sister).  It was so cute to see them interact - I can't wait for them to grow up and hang out.  Here are some pictures of the boys hanging out.  I apologize  in advance for how many there are...I even went through them a couple times and cut some out - they are just too cute!!

Traveling in style

"Hey!  Let's hold hands!"

"Look at this cool toy, Owen.  I'll share with you!"
Jonah couldn't wait to show Owen how he could almost crawl

Owen really liked the look of Jonah's exersaucer

"Come and play with me!"

Ready for two?  :)

Jonah wanted to hold Owen, too

Worn out from all the fun

America's Funniest Home Videos - Owen Edition

Since I may not be able to post a new blog this week while I am in sunny South Carolina, I thought I would attempt to post some funny videos we've captured of Owen.

This first one was taken when Owen was about 4 weeks old.  You may have to turn your speakers up to hear him - it's pretty cute :)

This second one, we got this weekend.  You may want to turn your speakers back down (unless you want to hear Justin and me sing terribly).  We thought we'd try to sing Owen to sleep, but as you will see, it didn't really work out so well.

Cousin Jonah...here I come!!!

When cousin Jonah visited Owen at Christmas, Owen was just a teeny tiny little guy - he was 3 weeks old and not even 7 pounds!  Now he is 9 1/2 weeks and a whopping 11 pounds, so cousin Jonah better watch out!

Jonah with his fists up ready to go

Owen is more of a kicker than a puncher

A side by side comparison - it will be fun to see how they compare next week! :)

Jonah checking out his new cousin - they do really like each other!!

Owen loves his Aunt Katie - he grinned when she held him when he was only two and a half weeks old!

Jonah doesn't know what to think!! :)

Indiana, Owen's All For You!

This past weekend, Owen made his second trip to Indiana. Other than to see Grandma and Grandpa (of course), the main reason for our trip was to head to Bloomington for Owen's first IU game! I surprised Justin with 3 tickets to the IU/Ohio State game (yes, I said 3 - Owen required a ticket!), and I thought we'd enjoy a nice family trip to catch a basketball game. Owen had other plans, though. He did really well at first. For the better part of the first half, he just sat on our laps and looked around, taking everything in. It was really pretty cute! Then, he got sleepy, and it was all downhill from there. I tried to get him to go to sleep, but IU was actually playing well, and the crowd was VERY loud. Every time he would get close to going to sleep, the crowd would cheer, and he would scream bloody murder. It broke my heart! We immediately made the decision to leave at halftime.

Owen stopped crying as soon as we got away from the crowd - I started crying as soon as we got to the car, and cried until we got out of Bloomington. :)

Owen all decked out in his cream and crimson sweater (he had on an IU onesie, too - sooo cute!).  He was really excited about going to the game :)

Owen has no choice but to go to IU

Owen's first trip to one of mom and dad's favorite Bloomington eateries - The Trojan Horse

We wouldn't (and couldn't) have gone to Indiana without seeing family either.  It was a busy weekend, but it was so great to see everyone!
